Σύντομο Βιογραφικό

I was born in Germany, but I lived a part of my childhood

in Serres. Then we emigrated again to Germany. I gave

passed qualifying exams in Germany, and I was able to pass

Medical school of the University of Cologne. After I graduated,

I completed my doctoral thesis at the same university, on

Virology. This was followed by my specialization in neurosurgery, in

University of Kiel. From 2000 to 2012 I worked in Kiel, where

In the interim, from 2002 to 2005, I worked in the research field of

neurosciences at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York

York (USA). After completing my specialization, from 2012 to 2015,

I worked as the head of the oncology neurosurgery unit, in

General Hospital of Duisburg. From 2015 to 2021, I was

chief vascular-neurosurgeon at the University of Düsseldorf. since

in 2021 I am a partner of the Clinic “AGIOS LUCAS”.

As part of my volunteer work, I have provided with the knowledge and

my experience in the Sustainable Health Improvement Program

care, in Cameroon. This program aims to

training of neurosurgeons of the University of Cameroon, on

neurosurgery.

This action, initiated by ARZT hilft e.V. and BRAIN-

GLOBAL, it will last about 4 years, and will allow the important

improvement of the techniques of neurosurgeons in Cameroon, in operations

of the brain and spinal cord. After the end of the program,

we will expand to all countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with the aim of:

local neurosurgeons to be able to perform operations

autonomously, and not to depend on Western neurosurgeons.

My vision is to ensure equality in the provision of medicine

care, all over the world. This will be achieved if we help them.

without depending on doctors from other countries.
